A Quick History
So, we have been at your service every Saturday for over 16 years. Starting with the Lynchburg Farmers Market back in 1999. In 2001 we started direct marketing our home raised, grass-only beef, then chickens, then turkeys, then hogs. We opened the ‘Bird **it’ Saloon in 2005. It was open 7 days a week for several years. We sold our meats through many restaurants and health food stores along the way. In 2014, the Meats were moved to the Showbarn, our current sales front. We have rolled with the punches and now, still today, offer some of the only home-raised, grass-only beef in central Virginia.
Farm Store Will Be Open By Appointment Only
We have educated ourselves over the years on the complexities of food production. It comes down to doing what FEELS right at the moment. At the moment we feel the need to reclaim our Saturdays to spend visiting others and being FREE. We would like to offer you the chance to come to the farm during the week by appointment. Simple, you email us what time works for you, we find what works for us, we meet you at the Farm Store to make the deal. What do you think? No weekend sales unless we announce a special event at the farm, which we have several planned, so stay tuned. The farm is open to you during the week to visit the animals or to get some fresh air. Our Grass-Only Beef Coming To Health Nut Nutrition in Lynchburg
I am excited to report that we are working on stocking the freezers at Health Nut Nutrition in Forest. This will be for your convenience. MRF grass-only beef coming soon to Forest, available for purchase all week long! Thank you for helping us help you. Our focus continues on providing nutrient-dense meats raised on medicinal pastures and then making it available only to our local community.
New Schedule Starts in April
We hope to start our new schedule the end of this month. Starting April, Meat Store open by emailed appointment, or you can shop at Health Nut. We will host several events to be announced this summer too. Those who have custom MRF meat in your freezer – thank you the most. You are the smart ones who stock up for the year! Please pass the word and maybe we’ll catch you out in the mountains one Saturday. The kids are thrilled! We have NEVER “taken off” on the weekend!
